Welcome to Overdue Finds, an Edmonton Public Library podcast. Bryce Crittenden and Caroline Land will be hosting conversations about movies, music, books, pretty much any sort of popular culture and media you can think of and likely some you’ve never thought of. We’re hoping you’ll learn more about what you can find at the library.

Jan 3, 2020

On this episode of Overdue Finds we go back 20 years (yes, it's been that long) to take a look at the year 2000. Bryce and Caroline are joined by librarians Carol Ma and Cassidy Munro to look at the top movies, books, music, and TV that helped kick-off the new millennium. The group also talks about the paranoia around Y2K, the controversial 2000 US Presidential election (hanging chad) and making some mixed CD's. Join us as we crack open another pop culture time capsule.

Be sure to visit our list of all the top items from the year 2000 that we talk about in this episode.

On the next episode of Overdue Finds, we’ll be talking with EPL’s first Forward Thinking Speakers Series speaker of the year: Mayor Don Iveson. We’ll be asking him about his vision for the Edmonton of tomorrow and we might even be able to sneak in a few pop culture questions for him.

There's only a handful of tickets left to see Mayor Don Iveson - Building a City for 2 Million People on January 30th. You can purchase your tickets on Eventbrite
