Welcome to Overdue Finds, an Edmonton Public Library podcast. Bryce Crittenden and Caroline Land will be hosting conversations about movies, music, books, pretty much any sort of popular culture and media you can think of and likely some you’ve never thought of. We’re hoping you’ll learn more about what you can find at the library.

Jan 17, 2020

Bryce and Caroline had the opportunity to talk to the first Forward Thinking Speaker Series presenter of 2020, Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson. He'll be talking about "Building A City for 2 Million People" and how he sees the Edmonton of the near future growing and thriving. In this interview, Mayor Iveson previews some of what he'll be talking about, including why it's so important for him to include youth leaders in the discussion and what challenges and opportunities are facing the Edmonton region. Our hosts also slip in a few pop culture questions, including asking about his favourite fictional politicians and what he's been reading lately.

Limited tickets are still available for Mayor Don Iveson: Building a City for 2 Million People on Thursday January 30, 2020 at Triffo Theatre (MacEwan University).

Be sure to check out our list of the titles talked about in this episode include a book recommendation from Mayor Don Iveson.

On the next episode of Overdue Finds we'll be talking about time loops just in time for Groundhog Day. Join us as we chat about some of the books, TV shows and movies (like Groundhog Day) that explore this twist on time travel.
